About the Grand Traverse Yacht Club Foundation

Your Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  Directors leading the Foundation are members of the Grand Traverse Yacht Club.  This non-for-profit was founded for the purpose of receiving and administering funds for the perpetuation of the memory of past and present GTYC members and their families, preservation of objects of historical and natural interest including the GTYC property and its surrounding environment, and providing education opportunities to amateur boaters through instruction, safety, training, competition, scholarships, grants and access to the water.  The Foundation is not affiliated with Traverse Area Community Sailing. 

Past GTYCF projects include: supporting the purchase of a safety boat for GTYC, funding student scholarships for United States Coast Guard families to attend sailing instruction programs, High School sailing team scholarships, improving the waterfront of the GTYC property, adding safety equipment to the race committee boats, to give access to the Grand Traverse West Bay waters to student athletes on high school sailing teams., and to generally kindle and support the love of boating.

We strive to establish a sustainable fund to continue future projects under our mission.
